You are works in progress. You are the beginning etchings on a scratch pad. You are the initial brush
strokes on the paper. You are the first notes of a musical composition. You are the transformational
lyrics of a new song. You are the balanced steps of a choreographed movement. You are the clay of a
formative sculpture. You are the opening scene of a play. You are the first paragraph of a journalistic
masterpiece. You are the essence of who God purposed you to be. You were created with greatness in
mind. You are endowed with special gifts. Acknowledge them. Embrace them. With God’s help develop
them. So that through your artistic expression you not only are becoming who you were purposed to be, but for our society you will be the difference that makes the difference. For through the arts there is revelation; there is healing; there is liberation; there is transformation; there is joy; there is peace; there is love. Through the arts there is your story waiting to be told…and only you can tell your story!

Whatever your positive passion is, is a Gift from God.
Use it to make this world a better place, and to fulfill your purpose in life. Proverbs 18:16 says that “A man’s gifts opens doors for him and brings him before great men. Nipsey Hussle said “The highest human act is to inspire.” Your gift inspires YOU first. Be generous with what you’ve been given and inspire others with what God has given you!! Zion’s Project was founded with these principles and beliefs in mind...the gift of creativity, inspiration, the love of family and acts of positive service. The road to success is filled with peaks and valleys but giving up is not an option! It takes hard work, positive thinking, goal setting and consistency to carve out a place that YOU feel good about in this world. You’ve got to believe in yourself FIRST, no matter what, in order to see your dreams manifest into reality. And remember, everyone isn’t supposed to understand the positive vision that you have for yourself. But as long as you and God have an understanding, that’s all that matters. Keep your faith in God and yourself and go for it and don’t give up!!

There aren’t many things better than an unexpected gift. You know, the kind of gift that you didn’t earn and catches you off guard, completely by surprise!? Well that’s exactly the way Zion made you feel when he smiled. His eyes glanced at you with a sparkle and his unassuming grin turned into a full blown smile, equipped with dimples you could just swim in!
He lived his life with his jar filled to the brim, overflowing with love, talent, integrity, gentleness and a smile that could melt even the hardest of hearts. But what made Zion’s life even more extraordinary was how he overflowed into the lives of us all! He poured out a bit of his treasure with every song, every laugh, every hug, jump shot. My favorite Maya Angelou quote is: “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” This is the beautiful legacy Zion left us with, to go on living each day pouring out a bit of ourselves and sharing our light and love with others.
